About Nicole

Nicole Taylor Nutting, Architect

From a young age Nicole knew she wanted to be an Architect. She loved the creativity of art, but also the structure of math. Architecture, she was told, was one of those professions that utilized both the right and the left side of the brain, a skill that seemed to fit her well. 

Studying Environmental Design brought her to Colorado from California in 2005, and thank goodness because there is no where else she'd rather live. Nicole obtained her Masters of Architecture from CU Denver in 2011 and has spent the last 10+ years growing her family and her career. Nicole spent the majority of the past decade under Jeff VanSambeek at Lodesone Design Group where she learned the complexities of residential design in and around Boulder County, and ultimately how to manage residential projects from design initiation thru permit approval. 

Nicole has experience with all kinds of design, but her true passion is single family residential. Our homes are where we spend the majority of our time, and it's important that these spaces work for us. Additions and renovations are particularly rewarding because they take a space that is under-functioning and customize it to fit a particular set of needs. When the devastating Marshall Fire pummeled thru Louisville, she found being a part of the recovery effort incredibly rewarding. Nicole loves working with homeowners, empathizes with their visions and desires, and has the skill to translate this into model form.

When not designing, Nicole can be found in one of Colorado's many open spaces with her husband of 15 years and three children. Together they love exploring Colorado via their pop-up camper, skiing Winter Park, hiking, jumping in lakes, and generally just being outside. On her own Nicole loves to grow flowers and cook for those she loves.
